A Few Words About Us
We are the only Model Railway Club in South Tyneside
and are based at Perth Green Community Association,
Inverness Road, in Jarrow, NE32 4AQ.
Our regular club night is Wednesday 7pm to 10pm.
Members are in many age groups
and come from a variety of backgrounds
and bring different experiences and talents.
New members are always welcome.
A link is provided for you to contact us
if you would like to come along and see what's going on.
The club operates in a number of gauges
and we have a large test track which is used
when we are testing or running trains.
Steam, modern image and underground are here,
as are narrow gauge, industrial, light railways, and trams,
this range illustrates our members interests.
While some of our members work ( or have worked)
on the railways, others follow the preservation movement -
the one thing we all have in common
is we all like to model railways.
Some club members have their own layouts
and these can sometimes be seen on the exhibition circuit.
We have started a new club layout
based on our local Metro station, Brockley Whins
in OO (1:76) scale. We had hoped to have it ready for 2015
alas, it is not yet ready - next year hopefully!
Follow the links above to see the layouts.
Each year in March we hold our own exhibition
which is always popular and well attended.
There is something of interest for most people in our hobby,
so why not come along and join us?
